main street,clare...

here's a shot of beautiful downtown clare , courtesy of the chamber

of commerce. hard to believe my friends and i used to spend our friday

nights driving up and down this street,for hours on end . we would

pool our money together,$.50 or so at a time,buy a tank full of gas and

drive from one end of town to the other. it was about a half mile trip.

the city fathers , in an effort to combat the scourge of teenagers driving

up and down the street , posted signs at the city limits stating "no u-turns

allowed" or some such drivel . when it didn't really work out as planned , they

simply put the signs farther and farther out till they extended about two miles

outside the city limits , north and south...that sure showed us , huh?
