saturday evening with mr t. ...

just a short one this week , telling about a very recent birthday party he attended...

"I went to an 80th birthday party Thursday night Oct. 25, 2007, for Valdeen
Warren, the lady from Clare whose uncle Bill married our Great Aunt Josephine,
parents of Allan Henderson. Valdeen's original last name was Henderson. Of
course, your mom knew who she was and all that. Got an interesting story from
her tonight which I'll share.
Valdeen Warren (then Henderson) came down from
the Clare area in the mid 1940's with her mom, looking for a place to live
because of her new job. They were looking for an affordable apartment. My mom
had a teaching job in a town called Perrinton and lived up there during the week
and only came home on the weekends to Lansing where Floyd and Margaret had been
living, while your mother was still in high school and all.

went shoppping downtown Lansing and ran into Margaret Allen, and explained they
were looking for a place. Margaret said why don't they just park valdeen at he
rplace since Loree is gone most of the time. so they made a deal, paid some room
and board.
On the weekends Loree and Valdeen went to the dances at the local
Armory, where they met their respective future husbands, Walt Warren and Paul
Timlin.
The rest of the story is obvious but I told Valdeen , "So, it WAS
your fault!"
You'd like Valdeen , she is a great person and has a great
sense of humor.
I wrote in her card that there's a full moon out tonight,
she has a drink in her hand, and 75 friends in her house. What more could she
ask for, and then I asked if she had grown fangs and some facial hair
yet.....she busted out laughing and said "You're just like your dad was, a real
nutcase, and that's why I let you into my house............" hahahahahaha."
