it is time to start thinking about Christmas stories of Old 27 Past.
anyone should pipe in a christmas memory of Grandma Allen and the old relatives. My
writings are only one perspective. how about the rest of you?
for example...
Little timy snippets of memory film here:
Grandma related this story to me
and it it just cam eback. Christmas 1958. we had just lost Floyd Allen on Dec.
11. Christmas was held at 1718 Indiana, Lansing MI that year (our old house). D.
Timlin had just been born on Dec. 20. Cindy hit Grandma in the mouth with a
wooden mallet from a toy. Hahahaha. Ouch! (That was Cindy hitting me!) Of course
Cindy was only 1 1/2.
Paul Timlin related this story of Floyd Allen's death.
He had prostate cancer among other complications. Paul went to visit him in the
Bay City hospital in a snow storm, Loree stayed home due to impending birth.
Don't know exact day, but it was snowing like hell out, and Paul drive all the
way from Lansing to Saginaw, no freeways then. Grandma had asked him to, to
check up on FLoyd. Floyd had tubes in him, very uncomfortable and in pain. e
wanted Paul to pull them out, but Paul refused. this may have been around Dec.
1. Paul stayed with him for quite a while. i don't remember if Paul went to Clare
from there but i bet he did. i know he called Loree about the whole thing. mom
was unable to attend her father's funeral due to her condition.
Then the world changed. Floyd passes away at age 71, and 9 days later D. Timlin was
born. a few days later Cindy popped Grandma in the mouth, and we all grew up
only knowing Margaret Allen and not Floyd. it was time for Floyd to go home, and
God sent Dan in his place. and Cindy went to toddler jail I think............
If Floyd Allen had used too much Pepto Bismo he would have been known as:
Pink Floyd.............ooohhhh!!!! that's baaaaaaddddd!
