sunday a.m. memories...

another re-print of email exchanges , this mainly between mr t and big d....once again big D is in bold , this time mr.t is not...

Yeah. Lately I've been remembering the garage inventory little by little. And some other stuff. I remember gramma's headboard on her bed because it was white with speckled gold in it, ya know like glitter. And her jewerly chest in there, as littler kids she told us to go in there and look and see, so we'd get it out and she had these turquoise colored bead necklace, and some broaches or pins. I remember a couple puzzles in the closet, checkers, the wooden little workbench thing where you hammered it mindlessly then turn it over and hammer it the other way- duhhh. And there was that kaleidoscope that you could look into and pretend you were Timothy Leary. I remember us also looking thru that binocular style slideshow thing, looking at photos of National parks etc. but I think that was from home and we'd just take it with us because we were bored in the car. But also that porcelain Shirley Temple doll, not so much for us but the sisters would talk about it once in awhile and get it out. Well this e-mail a bit long winded but as I remember one thing another pops into mind. The shear curtains blowing in the breeze in the front bedroom, the oval shaped mirror, and Steve had mentioned how cool we all thought that hall closet next to the bathroom was, pull the string on the light bulb there. The front screen door was really light but tight springs and I remember hooking the little hook at the top right on the screen door to make sure screen door was locked, sleeping on the couch and covering up to fend off mosquitoes, hahaha. Should have put this on the blog.
mr t:Yes the rope and tackle was really grandpa's for hoisting that old outboard he used to have up and down, and anything else he needed. We also played with it a lot of course. that was a neat rope but you surely could get your hands burned on it if you weren't careful.
And a further piece of the puzzle for my shrink too! Hahaha I was looking to see a response on my other Mid MI Ac. e-mail, silly me. And further more those mosquitoes breath smelled like shit from the outhouse across the street. Shit and marlboro or in those days Kool smoke perhaps. I had mentioned those beanbag ashtrys before, and one standup one, but don't think that info on the blog. One of those beanbag ashtrays can be seen in a pic, I can't remember if it's you sitting at the kitchen table perhaps...
Well Tammy got a nice card with a note from aunt Theo today. Very thoughtful. Her handwriting is very very good still. I might call her sometime soon. I always wondered about where grandpa Floyd took that boat out there, certainly not in the creek. There are alot of lakes around there, mostly small ones. We have to compile a shitload of questions for Theo I think.
