happy birthday , dad ....from cyndi, savanna and isabella

My Dad, my hero. I miss him so much. Most of you know what a daddys girl I was. It never changed. I believe that's why I fell in love with Elvis at the ripe old age of 8 was because he looked (to me anyway) like my Dad. Really not sure if I ever told him that or not. I have some stuff that I would like to share with you all but unforrunately my scanner isn't working properlyand could only scan a few. Some of it is just too big for a scanner anyway. Like his letter (and Certificate) from the General upon his retirement from the Army, as well as other cool pictures my stepmom gave me. Will get with Steve and somehow get this stuff on here someday.
It would have been his 79th birthday. Happy Birthday Daddy. I love you & miss you terribly.

I may not have a lot of memories of my grandpa as my oldest brother Chris, but i do have a few and i hold them very close to my heart. and one of the very last things i remember about my grandpa was during our last visit to Las Cruces, Thanksgiving, November 2006 while i was about 8 months pregnant and him telling me how happy he was for me, and how he couldnt wait for her (my daughter) to be here and how he wanted us to come back out after she was born.....then sadly he passed away when my daughter (his great grand-daughter) was just 3 months old.. he never got the chance to meet my daughter isabella, but i know he would have just absolutly fallen in love with her . isabella is now 21 1/2 months old and in rememberance of my late grandfather, my mom and i have taught her to say gg ben...WE LOVE AND MISS YOU VERY MUCH.....HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDPA

Yes you were daddy's little girl weren't you. Glad you have this photo, your dad was indeed a handsome man. I remember him showing me how to do pushups once in Ohio, and also when i was littler he really thought this red cowboy outfit i put on was a scream, laughed quite a bit about that. Happy birthday uncle Ben and thankyou for the memories and also for your service to this great country.

You are not alone. My son was born just 4 1/2 months after my mom passed away from cancer. She never knew her grandson or her granddaughter. Dad did, but I know, as Dan mentioned the other day in his own way to me, she would have spoiled my kids rotten. yhat's what grandparents and great grand parents are supposed to do, hehehheh. And I know Ben would have spoiled his great grand kids.
