happy birthday mr. t...

a very happy birthday to the serious member of our little gang ( i guess that would make him the " george " of our group ) . as the second oldest ( in the gang ) , he was one of the main instigators of everything we did .whether setting up a beatles lip-sync show for our folks,or making our " seaview " or "time-tunnel "in the basement at their house in lansing, or the t.v studio we set up in the basement at the green house , or any of the hundreds of other things we did to amuse ourselves when we were together.he was my right hand man.he was also the only trained musician amonst us . how many hours did we spend playing and singing hey jude , or figuring out our four part whistling for "i was kaiser bill's batman" . good times , my friends , good times . i cannot imagine growing up without him .we corresponded for years before and after our year in germany, all the way up into the '70s . of course , we gradually lost touch , while being kept informed about our respective lives by our mothers and gramma ,who still kept up their own correpondance . the way that worked best was my mom and gramma would write weekly and the info would get passed around but with the passing of gramma , then our mothers the constant flow of information tricked down to virtually nothing...then a big blank period till about 2002-03 when we reconnected via email . i am happy to know and love him ,and to have this opportunity to honor him on his birthday...

update: man,i really need an editor . i am about the wordiest, longwinded sob on the internet...
