winter at old 27 #2

here's one i meant to include in the last post.
this is looking south from the front porch area
at the big tree towards beaverton road . a very
familar landmark to those of us fortunate enough
to hang out at old 27...

Lordy how I remember that tree and that view. We used to play in the tall grass near there, along the connecting drive between grandma's lawn and Paul Nass's gravel barn drive. We used to take the hand held sickle and cut the tall grass with it. One time we tried to sell the grass as hay for horses. we had a napkin with words written in ink oen for a sign. We waved it at cars driving by at 65 mph. no wonder they didn't bother. hahahaha. Then your dad felt sorry for us and gave us some amount in quarters for it. someone must have taken us for some ice cream.....
