sunday musings...

big d and i have been discussing aunt ruth...he seems to remember her quite well,me not so much.so if there is anybody out there (i'm looking in your direction , mr t ) that can "flesh out " our aunt ruth a bit , feel free to post anything yourself , or send it to me and i will post it...

also in discussion has been the croquette set from the garage at grammas.all i recall are the mallets and the balls , and knocking them around on either of the lawns . were there wire hoops to complete the set , or was it just a couple of mallets and a couple of balls? inquiring minds need to know...

back to aunt ruth for a second or two , i remember swimming in the lake at her and arlens cottage. i recall fish nibbling on our toes and whatnot (good thing we weren't skinny dipping , eh?)...anyone else ?

lastly , i am getting a list of questions compiled to ask aunt theo , and am soliciting queries about subjects to ask about . either leave them in a comment , or email me, or write her and ask her yourself... have a good day...

Yes the balls and mallots were out and enjoyed on the lawn somewhat. Pictures of Aunt Ruth would be great. Theo may have some. Pretty lake was the lake and it's a smaller lake. Tom has a story about going to get a piano there. Apparently the guy who was now in the cabin there wasn't too thrilled about us getting the piano that we inherited and my dad responded by telling him he was digging in the wrong place for the well I guess (just B.S. ing the guy of course)Something like that. I suppose If I weren't sidetracked a little right now I'd be able to think of some of those questions. One is: Do you have any nephews that aren't A- holes, hahaha. When my mom passed away Mac Perry had written quite a nice letter about her as I recall. I thought that was very nice. Aunt Ruth was always very nice to us all. Tom and I were pallbearers ather funeral but I don't recall the year. And, I remember visiting Ardon (on a trip with mom & dad) in the Sarosota Fla. area in years later as well.

i'm pretty sure i remember using the mallets as guns/rifles on more than one occasion.that was one of the neat things growing,we were able to use our imagination, and improvise.as i look back i don't think i miss not having had computors and video games...

Me either. And if it weren't for Charlton Heston, who was a michigan boy, and just passed away - you wouldn't have had a right to that mallot, hahahaha. (Alright mellow out)

just got back in at 1:30 pm my time today (Thursday April 10). the comment was basically fun with croquette, maybe a few missing mallets, ball, hoops.

But also a question for Theo.

Does she have any old newsclippings? Particularly the time Pat Muckle was in a few northern newspapers for helping save these two guys from drowning in Lake Huron at Oscoda? Around 1967-68....summer. it was before he worked for Delta Airlines, before the thyroid/army draft episode.
