saturday morning flashbacks...

so,i'm sitting here on a saturday morning , once again reliving my childhood.
how ? by watching the stuff i enjoyed as a kid .kinda like a trip through
mr.peabodys wayback machine . this a.m. it's the bowery boys on t.c.m...these
guys still crack me up . between them and the three stooges and old movies ,
this was the way i spent saturday afternoons , at least when i wasn't outside
playing . and when the folks would let me control the tv . saturday mornings
were cartoons , afternoons was black and white comedy, sprinkled with '30's
and '40's adventures and assorted ,now classic film noir. and i'd still rather
watch this stuff than 70% of whats on tv nowadays...

i'm putting up a couple of links to the boys , for anyone who cares to get
any information on them . have a good day...

I know who the Bowery Boys were. Leo Gorcey. Saw a couple of those very young on TV, maybe when Dan was little and would not remember. Then again later up north on Grandma's TV if Channel 12 out of Flint or the /Cadillac Traverse City combined station would show some. Of course I never thought they were as funny as the stooges or Laurel and Hardy stuff, but that was a matter of exposure and taste I guess. More exposure to Bowery Boys may have changed my mind.

Yes I remember seeing Bowery Boys on T.V. at gramma's a few times and also I've seen them once in awhile here on cable. Was watching one about 6 months ago. It did keep my interest. I like watching older stuff, especially something funny but anything with fast moving scripts, or at least well written ones. I like the delivery of lines, charactors and even the sets, ya know, the decor of especially the 30's, art deco stuff etc. I almost bought a Tarzan box set at the bookstore the other day, haha.
