operation overlord...d-day + 70 years...

also , 45 years ago , the hoovers were arriving in

san diego ca. i don't have (or can't find ) any pix

of that momentous occasion . actually we had

arrived on the 5th,so today marked our first full

day as californians . we pulled in at night , it was too

dark to see much of anything . we got to our first 

place at 8318 allison ave in la mesa .

aunt vi had made a big pot of spagetti , and had

put some food in the fridge for us . i ate like a pig ,

whats new , right?

the place was nice and big, a 2

story duplex w/detached garage . it was pretty old

built in the twenties but had 3 bedrooms upstairs

and a bathroom also upstairs .

that house is still there , and at least on the outside

hasn't changed at all except the paint oustide . last

time i was by there a few years back it looked

to still be a duplex . had some good times living 

there , as we all adjusted to the so-cal

lifestyle...
